Joe Khan is running for Attorney General

As the Solicitor for Bucks County, Joe Khan was credited with “redefining the role of County Solicitor.” He improved outcomes while saving taxpayers millions and modeling best practices on diversity and inclusion. Joe built partnerships with other public entities to protect consumers and the environment through innovative litigation, including the first county lawsuit against social media companies for fueling a youth mental health crisis. Joe also played an instrumental role in protecting Pennsylvanian’s voting rights when he led a multi-county effort to defeat Trump’s lawyers’ efforts to throw out our votes.  He also drafted innovative and bipartisan legislation, including Pennsylvania’s only used car Lemon Law, and policy reforms on issues such as Fair Chance and Equal Pay hiring. The PA Bar Association recognized him as 2022’s Government Lawyer of the Year and the County Commissioners Association of PA honored him with the Outstanding Solicitor Award.

Joe is a public school grad and a public school dad who earned degrees from Swarthmore College and the University of Chicago Law School, where Professor Barack Obama helped guide him on a path of service. He began his career prosecuting sexual assault, child abuse, domestic violence and hate crimes in the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office.  He then served for a decade as an Assistant U.S. Attorney, resolving high-stakes matters across southeastern PA, and led the historic City Hall corruption probes in Allentown and Reading.  He also served on the Governor’s Advisory Commission for Asian Pacific American Affairs and would be the first Asian-American elected to a statewide office in Pennsylvania history.
