Tarah Probst for PA State Representative
Running for re-election for the 189th District that includes Delaware, Lehman & Porter Townships of Pike County, PA
Tarah Probst is a lifelong northeastern Pennsylvanian and the State Representative for Pennsylvania’s 189th District, serving parts of Monroe and Pike counties.
She previously served as Mayor of Stroudsburg from 2015 to 2022, making history as the first woman to hold the job in more than 200 years. It’s that local, practical experience she has brought with her to Harrisburg.
Before elected office, Probst was a small business owner and worked as a regional outreach coordinator for a drug and alcohol rehabilitation facility. She holds a B.A. from King’s College and a J.D. from Widener University School of Law.
In the House, Probst serves on committees focused on Education, Housing & Community Development, Local Government, State Government, and Tourism, Recreation & Economic Development. This work aligns with her focus on strengthening communities and local economies. Her priorities include creating good-paying jobs, lowering property taxes, fully and fairly funding public schools, expanding access to affordable healthcare, protecting reproductive rights, safeguarding clean air and water, and cutting unnecessary bureaucracy so government works better for residents.
