First in a Series - Cheryl Glenn for DelVal School Board

Dr. Cheryl R. Glenn, a 26 year resident and retired Speech/Language Pathologist, is a candidate as a School Director for the Delaware Valley School District. With 38 years of experience as a speech/language pathologist, 27 of which were in the NYC Public schools, and as a former college adjunct professor, she wants to put that good experience to positive use on the Delaware Valley School Board.

Glenn is an ASHA certified Speech/Language Pathologist. For 38 years, before her retirement in 2015, she was a practicing SLP, licensed in PA, NY and NJ. She spent 27 years with the New York City Public School System where she served as a Teacher of the Speech and Hearing Handicapped, a Diagnostician for the Speech and Hearing Impaired and as a Supervisor of Speech Services with a staff of 30. Staff development workshops to speech personnel and special education teachers and support staff were a relished part of her responsibilities as an administrator. Presentations to the various school boards as well as to principals and Central Board staff were commonplace for her. She is well versed on Education Law and the tenants of Public Law 94-142 , the IDEA and the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Glenn has taught, as an adjunct professor, at NY University, Pace University, the College of New Rochelle and as a guest lecturer for Brooklyn and Hunter Universities/CUNY. In addition, she has chaired the NYC Speech/Language-Hearing Association, was the president of the Board of Regional Association Presidents of NYS and was a member of the Academic Affairs Board of the American Speech/Language and Hearing Assocation (ASHA). She continues to serve as the Treasurer of the League of Women Voters-Pike County, was a Co-Chair of the Northeast Partnership Council of Planned Parenthood-Keystone and is an Assistant Chapter Leader of the Council of School Supervisors and Administrators-PA Chapter. Her knowledge and experience will be assets for the Delaware Valley School Board.

Her philosophy: All children can learn. It is up to us to provide the environment and tools to help each and every child reach their God-given potential.
